Floyd Dale Cunningham, 85, a resident of East Dailey, passed from this life Saturday evening, May 18, 2013, at Nella‘s Nursing Home in Elkins. He was born Thursday, November 10, 1927 in Whitmer, a son of the late John Floyd Cunningham and Ida Bell Phillips Cunningham. On November 23, 1949, in Elkins, he married the former Virginia Lucille Teter who survives in East Dailey. Also left to cherish Dale’s memory are two children: Diana Boyles and husband Sam of Buckhannon, and Gary Cunningham of Dailey, three grandchildren: Seth Boyles and Patty Martinez of Lost Creek, Lisa Deatherage and husband Hank of Buckhannon and Tim Cunningham and wife Sarah of Dailey, six great grandchildren: Corey and Colby Boyles, Logan and Lauren Deatherage and Haley and Leslie Cunningham, three brothers: Samp Cunningham and wife Bernice of Beverly, Wade Cunningham and wife Betty Jo of Elkins and John Wilson Cunningham and wife Carolyn ‘Sis’ of Whitmer, four sisters: Louise Barkley, Mary Tingler, Arlene Tingler and husband Jim, all of Elkins, and Nancy Bennett and husband Paul of Sugar Grove, one sister in law: Louise Cunningham of Beverly, and several nieces and nephews. Also preceding Dale in death besides his parents are one daughter: Karen Elizabeth Cunningham, four brothers: Roy, Leonard, Lincoln ‘Bud’ and Louis Cunningham, one sister: Louella Cunningham, three sisters in law: Ann, Betty and Wanda Cunningham, and two brothers in law: Mack Barkley and Newt Tingler. Dale attended the schools of Randolph County. He was a farmer all of his life and was active in the Allegheny Highland Project. Dale also worked at the Pioneer Lumber Company, Labcraft, Huttonsville Correctional Center and Campbell’s Market. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and just being outdoors. Mr. Cunningham’s request for cremation will be honored. A memorial service will be held Thursday, May 23, 2013 at 2:00PM at the Good Shepherd Assembly of God in Elkins. Reverend Roger Foster will officiate. Memorial contributions may be made for Mrs. Cunningham’s benefit to the Good Shepherd Assembly of God, Rt. 3 Box 450 Elkins, WV 26241
