Frances Barbera McCauley, 88, of Sugar Maple Dr. in Weston passed away on Friday, May 11, 2018 at St. Clair Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania following a brief illness.

She was born in Corning, New York on August 16, 1929 a daughter of the late Frank Barbera and Maria Cubello of Calabria, Italy.

On August 31, 1952 she married Matthew Burton McCauley and they celebrated 45 years of marriage before his passing on October 31, 1997.

She is survived by three children: Barbara King (William “Bill” King III) of Weston, Matthew “Matt” M. McCauley (Judy) of Fairmont, WV nd Sheryl Sanctis of Bethel Park, PA; five grandchildren: Jessica Gee (Josh), William Shawn King (fiancé Amanda Park), Lauren McCauley Hixenbaugh (Rusty), Michael Sanctis, and Angela Sanctis; two great grandchildren: Briea Gee and Barrett Gee; and three nieces: Mary Jane Skinner, Nancy Sauerbrun, and Frances LaGioe.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters: Jesse DeFillipes, who raised her, and Rosa Barbera; and three nephews: Rocco C. DeFillipes, Frank DeFillipes, and Joe DeFillipes

Frances worked as an administrative assistant at Citizens Bank and retired with 22 years of service. She enjoyed camping with her husband until his passing, and continued the tradition with her grandchildren. She traveled extensively through the United States, Europe, and Asia. She enjoyed camping and trout fishing with her son Matt every spring, shopping and visiting her great grandchildren with her daughter Barbara and visiting Pittsburgh with her daughter Sheryl. She hosted all family holidays in her home. She was a devoted member and active volunteer at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Weston and a 50-year member of the Catholic Daughters Court Victory #379.

Friends and family will gather at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Weston from 10-11 AM on Wednesday, May 16, 2018.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 AM with Reverend James R. DeViese Jr. as celebrant.

Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Garden in Jane Lew.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made in memory of Frances to St. Patrick Catholic Church 210 Center Ave. Weston, WV 26452.
