Frank D. Brunette, 87, of 95 Elm St., Buckhannon, died Saturday, Feb. 22, 2003, in St. Joseph’s Hospital Nursing Care Facility, Buckhannon.

He was born Dec 6, 1915 in Clarksburg, a son of the late Salvatore and Rosa Pulice Brunetti.

He was married for 55 years to Millie E. Warner Brunette, who survives in Buckhannon.

Also surviving are one daughter, Shirley McCord and husband, Junior, Buckhannon; one brother, Dominick Brunetti and wife, Goldie, Clarksburg; two grandsons, Steve McCord and wife, Camella, Vienna, and Brian L. McCord, Buckhannon; one great-grandson, Payton McCord, Vienna; and one great-granddaughter, Katie McCord, Vienna.

He was preceded in death by four brothers, Joe Brunetti, John Brunetti, Pete Brunetti and Ed Brunetti; and two sisters, Daisy Nardelli and Beatrice Arthur.

He was employed by Gichner Iron Workers Inc. in Washington D.C., and in Beltsville, Md., for 45 years and was a master welder.

He was a field superintendent for 35 years in an area covering five states and Washington, D.C. He retired in 1981 due to health reasons. He also owned and operated Frank’s Enterprise Inc.

He was a member of the Knights of Columbus third and fourth degree in Clarksburg Council, Loyal Order of Moose Buckhannon Lodge 598, Buckhannon Lions club and served three years on the board of directors and local and national AARP.

He was a graduate of the University of Hard Knocks, Honorary Alumnus of the Alderson-Broaddus college in Philippi.

He served three years as secretary of the church council at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church, served as an Eucharist minister and was also on building committee.

Friends will be received at Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home today from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Holy Rosary Catholic Church with Father James McCafferty officiating.

Interment will follow in Buckhannon Memorial Park in Buckhannon.
