Frazer William Murphy 1923-2002

Frazer William Murphy, 78, of HC 78, Box 17, Riverton, died Thursday, Feb. 28, 2002, at his residence.

Mr. Murphy was born May 22, 1923, in Cherry Grove, a son of the late Isaac Earl Murphy and Sylvia Virginia Bennett.

He married Bonnie Judy Murphy, who survives.

Also surviving are two daughters, Juanita Goldizen, Maysville, and Lenora Mallow, Upper Tract; one son, Dale Murphy, Franklin; two sisters, Lora Smith and Helen Johnson, both of Baltimore, Md.; one brother, Herman Murphy, Cherry Grove; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Dana Murphy; one half brother, Hessie Hornick; one sister, Zetha Vandevander; and one half sister, Bonnie Wymer.

Mr. Murphy was a farmer and retired in 1986 after 22 1/2 years as a custodian at Circleville High School. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during World War II. He was a member of Spruce Knob Ruritan Club with 23 years perfect attendance. He was a member of VFW Post 6862 Riverton. He attended Circleville Presbyterian Church.

Friends will be received at Basagic Funeral Home in Franklin, Saturday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be in Circleville Presbyterian Church Sunday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. C. William Cox officiating. Interment will follow in North Fork Memorial Cemetery in Riverton.
