Fred B. Jaber 1914-2002 Obituary

Fred B. Jaber, 87, a resident of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, passed away Wednesday, April 24, 2002, in Cuyahoga Falls.

He was born Aug. 8, 1914, at Fond Du Lac, Wis., a son of the late John and Amelia (Essie) Jaber.

He was united in marriage to the former Lucille Overfield, who survives.

Also surviving are three sisters, Lily Joseph, Akron, Ohio, Louise Nime, Fairlawn, Ohio, and Freda Staitz, Fairlawn, Ohio; three brothers, Lois Jaber, Fairlawn, Ohio, John Jaber, Fairlawn, Ohio, and Donald Jaber, Florida; and many beautiful nieces, nephews and friends.

An Akron native, Mr. Jaber retired from Goodyear Aerospace. During World War II, he served with the Army’s 29th Division during the liberation of Europe. He was a member of St. Joseph Melkite Church.

Fred had a truly generous spirit. He would avidly clip and collect coupons, and then go out of his way to share them with friends, relatives and even strangers.

Friends will be received at the Wright Funeral Home, 216 North Walnut St., Philippi, after 6 p.m. today. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home chapel with speakers Robert “Buck” True and Buddy Shreve officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Vernon Memorial Cemetery.
