Freddie “Fred” Allen Rose Sr., 61, a resident of Valley Head, passed from this life Monday, November 23, 2015 at the VA Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA. Fred was born Monday, August 30, 1954 in Richwood, a son of the late Charles Rose and Wanda Maham Rose. On April 28, 1990 he married the former Jennifer Drennen who survives in Valley Head. Also left to cherish his memory are four children, Rachael Rose of Richwood, Melissa Rose of Elkins, Mary Jane Rose and Freddie Allen Rose III, both of Valley Head, five grandchildren, five sisters, Joyce Stalnaker of TN, Zela Ann Rose of Richwood, Sherly Taylor of Holcomb, Lisa Rose of Hico and Betty Jane Rose of Richwood. Preceding Fred in death besides his parents as was one son, Freddie Allen Rose Jr and two brothers, Jesse and Charles Rose. Fred attended the schools of Nicholas County and had proudly served in the U.S. Navy. He had been employed for over twenty five years as a chef at Snowshoe. People say he made the best biscuits and gravy youll ever eat. Fred was a huge Bluegrass music fan and loved to go boating and fish. He enjoyed watching the History and AE channels but more than that, loved to watch cartoons with his granddaughter. Fred was an extremely hard worker and a dedicated family man who would do anything to help anyone. A visitation will be held at the Randolph Funeral Home Friday, November 27, 2015 from Noon until 2:00P, the funeral hour. Interment will follow in Valley Head Cemetery where members of the Navy Honor Guard will conduct military honors.
