Garnet R. “Buck” Tenney, age 77, died Sunday, May 20, 2012, at his home on Sago Road.
He was born October 14, 1934, in Upshur County, WV, a son of the late Clarence Junior and Lessie Westfall Tenney.
He is survived by five daughters: Kelly Oberg of Ohio, Debbie Yates of Clarksburg, Ruby Hager of Huntington, Pam Watson of Weston, and Crystal Merritt of Elkins; five sons: Tim Tenney and wife Diana of Buckhannon, Ed Tenney and wife Mae of Buckhannon, Jeff Tenney and wife Diane of Buckhannon, Ralph Tenney and wife Bonnie, and Everett Tenney of Buckhannon; three sisters: Diane McCartney and husband Richard of French Creek, Stella Virginia “Cubie” Black and husband Lawrence of Buckhannon, and Lora Hamner of Tallmansville; three brothers: Peanut Tenney of Selbyville, Delbert Tenney and wife Mary of Tallmansville, Vacel Tenney and wife Janet of Warren, OH; and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Okie and Herbert, and one sister, Vonnie Burr.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 23, from 10-11:00 AM, the funeral hour, at the Sago Baptist Church with the Rev. Wease Day officiating.
Interment will follow in the Big Bend Cemetery.
