Gary Lee Ransbottom Sr 1932-2015 Obituary
Gary Lee Ransbottom Sr., 82, a resident of Elkins and formerly of Glady, passed from this life Tuesday, January 13, 2015 at Nella’s Nursing Home in Elkins.
Gary was born Saturday, July 9, 1932 in Chesapeake, OH, a son of the late Gory Edward Ransbottom and Rosezella Ferguson Ransbottom.
On March 16, 1956 in Barboursville, he married the former Rheta F. Booth who survives in Glady.
Also left to cherish Gary’s memory is one son, Gary L. Ransbottom, Jr. and wife Deborah of Glady, one daughter, Karlene Ransbottom and companion, Andy Arkell of Elkins, one grandson, Bryce Ransbottom of Glady and two sisters, Claudia Edmonds of Huntington and Helen Morrison of St. Augustine, FL.
Preceding Gary in death besides his parents was one brother Jack Ransbottom.
Gary graduated from Huntington East High School and attended Marshall University.
Prior to retiring, he was employed for thirty five years with CSX. Gary enjoyed hunting, fishing and indian relics.
He was a member of the Indian Archaeology Association. Gary was a Presbyterian by faith and a member of the Scott Memorial Presbyterian Church. Gary’s request for cremation will be honored.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made in Gary’s memory to Mountain Hospice 1600 Crim Avenue Belington, WV 26250
