Geneva Harris Triplett 1912-2002 Obituary Obituary

Geneva Harris Triplett, 89, formerly of Cheat Bridge, Randolph County, died at 4:47 a.m. today, Jan. 25, 2002.

Mrs. Triplett was born June 13, 1912, in Glady, a daughter of the late Raphael Simon and Lena Bowers Harris.

On Sept. 22, 1929, in Oakland, Md., she married Charles Robert Triplett, who preceded her in death in January 1970.

Surviving are a son, George R. Triplett and daughter-in-law, Frances Rossi Triplett, Elkins; a brother, Robert Harris, Marlinton; four sisters, Mabel Harris Payne and Greta Harris Miller, both of Parsons, Jeanette Harris Beck and Alice Harris Antolini, both of Elkins; three grandsons, Dr. George R. Triplett Jr., Lexington, Va., Charles E. Triplett, CPA, Buckhannon, and Lt. Commander Jefferson Lee Triplett, Annapolis, Md.; two great-grandsons, George Andrew Triplett and Robert Charles Triplett, born Jan. 20, 2002; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by five brothers, Allen Harris, Ralph “Doc” Harris, Jack Harris, James Jessie Harris and Fielding Harris.

Mrs. Triplett attended the schools of Randolph County and Elkins High School. She was a member of Wayside Methodist Church and Randolph County Melody Chorus. She was at one time employed by Cheat Mountain Lodge at Cheat Bridge and was a homemaker.

Funeral Arrangements: Friends will be received at F.E. Runner Funeral Home Saturday after 4 p.m. Funeral services will be in the funeral home chapel Sunday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Donald Lockhart, retired Methodist minister, officiating. Interment will follow in Maplewood Cemetery in Elkins.
