GENEVA M. POWELL Geneva M. Powell, 92, of Teter Lake Community, Rt. #1, Montrose, died Saturday, July 17, at the Broaddus Hospital. She was born April 2, 1918, at Rachel, Marion County, a daughter of the late Harry G. and Clara Belle (Hartmann) Morgan On November 9, 1946, she was married to James Millard Powell, who preceded her in death on March 15, 1984. Survivors include several nieces and nephews including Diane Hinton, Grafton and Linda Colanero, in N.C. She was also preceded in death by one sister, Evelyn M. Cutlip and a brother, Max. V. Morgan. Mrs. Powell was a proud veteran of World War II, serving with the U. S. Navy. She retired in 1976, from the Westinghouse Corp. plant in Fairmont, following 35 years of service. She was a member of the Belington Presbyterian Church and the Teter Lake Community’s Neighborhood Watch Program. Grave side funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, July 20, at the Central Chapel Cemetery. Interment will follow with military rites accorded by Barbour Post #44, American Legion and the W.Va. Honor Guard, Camp Dawson, W.Va. Friends may call at the Schoonover – Stemple Funeral Chapel, 609 Crim Avenue, Belington, from 4:00 until 9:00 P.M. on Monday and from 9:00 until 10:00 A.M. on Tuesday. Schoonover – Stemple Funeral Chapel is entrusted with arrangements.
