Genevieve Golden Hart, 85, of Clarksburg, died Thursday, Oct. 9, 2003, at her daughter’s home in Austin, Texas.

She was born in French Creek, Upshur County, on Aug. 30, 1918, the daughter of the late Hilleary Golden and Dessie Mae Howes Golden.

Her husband, Guy T. Hart, preceded her in death on Nov. 2, 1993.

Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Edward (Patricia) Dudley of Austin, Texas; one brother, Harvey H. Golden of Buckhannon; two grandchildren, Guy Dudley and Brittaney Dudley, both of Austin, Texas.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, one of whom was an infant, Geraldine Golden and Virginia K. Golden.

Mrs. Hart was a member of Clarksburg Baptist Church. She was active in the Young Women Republicans, Business and Professional Women, 4-H Extension Service, the North View Senior Extension Service and a friends support group called “The Goldeneers.”

Mrs. Hart always approached life with a positive attitude; she never complained and showed remarkable strength. She always displayed genuine kindness to all. It was through these qualities that God chose to use her as a witness to others. She was a remarkable lady who used actions over words. Her obligations as a wife, mother and grandmother were handled with love, strength and understanding. We will all miss her but look forward to seeing her again.

Friends will be received at the Davis-Weaver Funeral Home, 329 E. Main St., Clarksburg, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday, where a funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Friday with the Rev. David L. Hulme presiding. Entombment will be in the Floral Hills Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.

The family of Pat Hart Dudley offers thanks to all family and friends who provided their prayers and support. A reception honoring Mrs. Hart and her memory will be held immediately following the graveside committal service at the Clarksburg Baptist Church. The invitation is for family, relatives and all of her friends.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to People’s Hospice, PO Box 680, Clarksburg, W.Va. 26302 or the Lord’s Food Pantry, Clarksburg Baptist Church, PO Box 327, Clarksburg, W.Va. 26302-327.
