George Lambie Davidson, 73, a resident of 110 Valley Court, Elkins, departed this life early Tuesday morning, Nov. 18, 2003, at the Davis Memorial Hospital.

He had been in declining health.

He was born Sunday, Oct. 5, 1930, at Charleston, the son of the late George W. Davidson and Bessie Morrison Lambie Davidson.

On Oct. 2, 1997, he was married to the former Irene Carol Goode, who survives at Elkins.

Also surviving are two sons, Bruce Cameron Davidson of Arlington, Va., and James Michael Bennett and wife, Christine, of Frazier’s Bottom; two daughters, Diana Davidson of Lutz, Fla., and Lisa Ann Fitzgibbon and husband, Michael, of Jackson, Mich.; two stepdaughters, Linda Haught Harless and husband, Phillip, of Placentia, Calif., and Rebecca Haught Bailey and husband, David, of St. Albans; two sisters, Carol Bescanson and Deborah Thevenin, both of Florida; and eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Mr. Davidson attended the schools of Charleston and several specialized training schools.

He served with the U.S. Army as an artillery officer during the Korean Conflict.

He worked for IBM and served as a state government specialist for the 3M Co., working in Information Management Systems when he retired in 1992.

He was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Charleston

At the request of the deceased, his remains were cremated. A memorial service will be held at a later date.

The family suggests that expressions of sympathy be in the form of contributions to the Tygart Valley Post 3647, Veterans of Foreign Wars, P.O. Box 862, Elkins, W.Va. 26241 or to the Salvation Army, P.O. Box 187, Grafton, W.Va. 26354.
