Gerald Hammonds 1938-2015 Obituary
Gerald Hammonds, 76, a resident of Coalton, passed from this life Friday, September 4, 2015 at the home of his brother where he resided for the last six weeks.
Gerald was born Friday, September 9, 1938 in Mill Creek, a son of the late Adam Robert Hammonds and Ruth Taylor Hammonds.
He was united in marriage for fifty six years to Karen McClanahan Hammonds who survives.
Also left to cherish his memory are seven children, Gerald Lynn Hammonds of Coalton, Randall Hammonds and wife Robin of VA, Jeffrey Hammonds and wife Cathy of Adolph, Chris Hammonds and wife Tina of Coalton, Carmen Long and Kirstie Hammonds of Belington and Kimberly Catt and husband Bradley of VA, fifteen grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, six siblings, Thelma Newhouse and husband Jim of OH, Bonnie Hammonds of Coalton, Linda Hammonds of CA, Kay Balducci and husband Danny of Belington, Betty Hammonds of Elkins and Donnie Hammonds of Elkins, one sister in law, Mildred Hammonds of Coalton and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding Gerald in death besides his parents were two brothers, Carol and Harold Hammonds and one son in law, David Long.
Gerald was employed as a truck driver for J.F. Allen Company and retired after thirty two years of service.
A visitation will be held Wednesday, September 9, 2015 from Noon-1:00P, the funeral hour.
Rev. Eli Hostetler will officiate and interment will follow in Brick Church Cemetery in Huttonsville.
