Glenna Jean Jackson, age 78, of Buckhannon, WV died Tuesday, October 26, 2010 at her home.

She was born October 29, 1931 in Clendenin, WV a daughter of the late Leonard and Ella Sandy Mick.

On December 8, 1950 she married Edward L. Jackson who survives.

Also surviving are three daughters, Pam Thomas and husband Bill of Buckhannon, Judy Parker and husband Joel of Buckhannon and Nancy Wayts of Buckhannon; five grandsons, Josh Hinkle and wife Sabrina of Weston, WV, Eric Clayton Lantz and wife Shelli of Buckhannon, Evan Lantz and wife Ashley of Buckhannon, Michael Thomas of Morgantown, WV and Jeffrey Wayts and wife Jodi of Ft. McCoy, WI; two granddaughters, Erin Oleksa and husband Cory of Morgantown and Natalie Nicholson and husband Danny of Buckhannon; eight great-grandchildren; three brothers, Leonard “Bud” Mick and wife Arletta of Buckhannon, Ralph Mick and wife Nancy of Mechanicsville, MD and Larry Mick and wife Connie of Abingdon, VA; three sisters, Grace Douty and husband Dale of Salem, OH, Mary Lou Allman and husband Doy of Richwood, WV and Sandra Sue Casto and husband Pete of Vienna, WV; one sister-in-law, Helen Reger of Buckhannon; one brother-in-law, Brooks Jackson and wife Theresa of Louisville, KY; several nieces and nephews and family friend Debbie Rolenson of Buckhannon. The family would also like to give a special thank you to her loving caregivers who added cheerfulness, comfort and dignity to her final days. She was a graduate of Buckhannon-upshur High School, worked in retail and real estate and was a homemaker. She was a member of Bethany Baptist Church of Hall, WV, Buckhannon Country Club, former member of Buckhannon Country Club’s Ladies League and Buckhannon Lanes traveling league. A talented artist, Jean greatly enjoyed ceramics, oil painting and creating floral arrangements. She also enjoyed reading, sewing and taking walks. Her unspoken compassion and kindness toward those less fortunate, especially children, leaves the world a better place. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends. Friends will be received at the Poling-st. Clair Funeral Home Friday, October 29, 2010 from 4-8 PM. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. Robert Poling officiating. At her request Jean will be cremated and buried in the Bethany Baptist Cemetery at Hall. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 1218 Market St., Parkersburg, WV 26101. Online Condolences may be made to the family at www.polingstclair.com. Poling-st.
