Glenoka Phillips, 94, a resident of Isner Creek Road, departed this life at 8:50 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 3, 2002, at her home. She had been in declining health for the past one and one half years.

She was born Sunday, March 22, 1908, at Elkins, a daughter of the late Arthur Chester Phillips and Cevilla Ann Kelly Phillips.

She had never married.

Surviving are two nieces, Audrey Sheidy and husband, Richard, Baltimore, Md., and Margaret Smith and husband, Larry, Severn, Md.; one sister-in-law, Helen K. Phillips, Elkins; a close friend Nancy Ramsey, who cared for Miss Phillips for several years; and several great-nieces and nephews.

She was the last surviving member of the her immediate family, having been preceded in death by two brothers, L. Hugh and Norman D. “Bus” Phillips; and one sister, Olive M. Phillips.

She was a graduate of Elkins High School with the class of 1925 and following graduation she was employed by A. Spates Brady for several years. She was secretary-treasurer and part owner of the former Ward Auto Parts Co., where she had worked from 1941 until her retirement in 1988. She was a lifetime member of the Davis Memorial Presbyterian Church.

Friends will be received at Lohr & Barb Funeral Home today from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Final rites will be conducted at the funeral home chapel Tuesday at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Elkins Memorial Gardens at Elkins. The family suggests that expressions of sympathy be in the form of contributions to Mountain Hospice, 1140 Crim Ave., Belington, W. Va. 26250.
