Goldie Geneva Abel, age 94 years, a resident of Coalton, passed away Saturday evening, July 24, 2010 in the Hospice Care Corporation Inpatient Care Facility.

She was born September 10, 1915 at Horner, WV, a daughter of the late Elden and Edith Dueley.

She was married to John Henry David Abel who preceded her in death on August 10, 1995.

Surviving are one son, Thomas Abel, Newton Falls, OH, five daughters, Mary Roy and Jean Poling both of Norton, Dottie Primavera, Coalton, Linda Bodkin, Elkins and Nancy Kirk of Knoxville, TN.

One sister, Thelma Reeder of Buckhannon, nineteen grandchildren, forty one great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild also survives.

Also preceding her in death were two daughters, Geneva Green and Shirley Abel and three sons, David, Charles and Johnny Abel.

Mrs. Abel was a homemaker and a member of the Presbyterian Church.

She loved to embroidery and enjoyed flowers.

Friends may call from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM Tuesday, July 27, 2010 at the Tomblyn Funeral Home in Elkins.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, July 28th from the funeral home chapel with Rev. Walter Ellison and Sister Mary Ella Morrison officiating.

Interment will follow in the Mountain State Memorial Gardens near Gilman.

The Tomblyn Funeral Home of Elkins is in charge of the arrangements for Goldie Geneva Abel.
