Leeorvel Earl “H.B.” Evans, 70, of Buckhanon, died Sept. 27 at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Buckhannon.

Born Feb. 13, 1931 at Kempton, MD, he was a son of the late Homer Bliss and Agnes McGraw Evans. His stepmother, Goldie Evans, survives in Davis. His wife, Ruth Ann Evans, survives in Buckhannon.

Also surviving are three sons, Lenny (and Sharon) Evans of Buckhannon, Randy (and Laurie) Evans of Blackstone, VA and Danny (and Melissa) Evans of Mebane, NC; a daughter, Robin Evans of Fayetteville; a sister, Mary Whitehair of Horse Shoe Run; five grandchildren, Josh and Dustin Plass of Fayetteville, Terry, Joshua and Bridget Evans of Buckhannon, and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a son, Gregg Evans, and siblings Elmer Clark and Blanch Gamble.

Mr. Evans had been a coal miner and served with the US Army during the Korean conflict.

Services were held Sept. 29 at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s witnesses with Arthur Hinkle presiding. In lieu offlowers, contributions may be made to Kingdom Hall, Tallmansville road, Buckhannon, WV 26201. Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home, Buckhannon, was in charge of arrangements.
