Hattie Christine Weese 1929-2002 Obituary

Hattie Christine Weese, 72, a resident of 103 Pleasant Ave., Elkins, passed away at 5:53 a.m. Friday, April 5, 2002, in the Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Md.

She was born April 7, 1929, at Beverly, the daughter of the late Clarence and Bessie Dick Crickard.

On Aug. 23, 1947, she was married to Roy Lee Weese, who preceded her in death on Dec. 2, 2000.

She is survived by one son, Gary Lee Weese and wife, Barbara, Glen Burnie, Md.; one daughter, Mrs. Jacob (Paula) Caplinger III, Newport News, Va.; two brothers, Roy Crickard, Elkins, and Jimmy Crickard, Crystal Springs; one sister, Mrs. Lyda (Sandra) Poling, Beverly; two granddaughters, Allison and Vanessa Weese, both of Maryland; one sister-in-law, Lena Arlene Crickard, Beverly; and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were two brothers, Paul and Ray Crickard, and a sister, Anna Jane Crickard.

Mrs. Weese was employed as a nurse’s aide at David Memorial Hospital prior to her retirement, and was a member of the Randolph County Senior Center and the First Church of Christ in Elkins.

A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the Beverly Cemetery with Evangelist Gary L. Kendall Sr. officiating. Interment will follow.

At the request of the deceased, flowers are to be omitted. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Church of Christ, 300 Worth Ave., Elkins, W.Va. 26241. The Tomblyn Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
