Helen I. Pritt Fowler 1917-2002 Obituary

Helen I. Pritt Fowler, 85, a former resident of Valley Head and a resident of Elkins for the past 10 years, passed away Monday evening, Oct. 14, 2002, in the Valentine Personal Care Home in Elkins.

She was born Jan. 29, 1917, at Valley Head, a daughter of the late Artie P. Pritt and Laura Elizabeth Lindsay Pritt.

She was married to William Coy “Tony” Fowler, who preceded her in death in 1971.

She is survived by one son, Ronald Fowler of Fayetteville, N.C.; one brother, Artie Pritt Jr. of Chardon, Ohio; four sisters, Urania P. Corley of Valley Head, Una X. Foreback of Huttonsville, Alee V. Rose of Beverly, and Rosie A. Hagglund of Oakland, Md. Also surviving are two grandsons, Michael and Joseph Fowler, both of Greensboro, N.C.; six nieces and six nephews.

She was preceded in death by one brother, Samuel D. Pritt.

Mrs. Fowler was a homemaker and a member of the Valley Head United Methodist Church.

Friends may call from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Thursday at Tomblyn Funeral Home in Elkins. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday from the funeral home chapel. The Rev. Dr. Richard L. Crickard and the Rev. Robert L. Baer Sr. will officiate and interment will follow in the Valley Head Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Valley Head United Methodist Church, Valley Head, W.Va. 26294, in memory of Mrs. Fowler.
