Helen M. Malobicky, 77, a resident of 1722 South Davis Ave., Elkins, passed away Monday, Sept. 2, 2002, at her home. She had been in declining health, but her death was unexpected.

She was born Jan. 26, 1925, in Tarentum, Pa., a daughter of the late Joseph and Eva Hrebicek.

On June 16, 1951, she was married to Joseph “Joe” Malobicky, who preceded her in death on June 4, 2002.

She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

She is survived by one daughter, Denise Malobicky, her beloved cat and constant companion, Amy; and her very dear friend, Donna Brant; several nieces and nephews including Bobby, John, Betty, Dolly, Theresa and Mary Ann Mistrick, Maria and Marty Manross, George, Millie and Jimmy Samaj and Dennis and Raymond Mialki.

She was a homemaker and a member of St. Brendan Catholic Church and the Holy Rosary Guild.

She was a former member of the Davis Memorial Hospital Auxiliary. S

he was an accomplished seamstress and quite the cook until her health prevented her from continuing.

She loved to debate politics and current issues and usually came out ahead.

Most importantly she was a dedicated wife and a most loving, caring and beautiful mother.

Although she often remained in the background she was the backbone and stabilizing force for Joe and Denise.

Her sincere and caring ways touched the lives of many friends as well as many who were only her acquaintance.

Through all her years of tremendous physical pain she remained very devoted to her faith and most concerned and caring for her family and friends.

At the request of the deceased her remains will be cremated.

A liturgy will be celebrated for Mrs. Malobicky by the Rev. Father William Anderson at St. Brendan Catholic Church at a date to be announced tomorrow.

A gathering will be held afterward. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Brendan Catholic Church, “Rectory Fund,” Elkins, W.Va. 26241, or to the Randolph County Humane Society, PO Box 758, Elkins, W.Va. 26241.

The Tomblyn Funeral Home of Elkins is in charge of the arrangements.
