HELEN “MAY” CANNON CORDER, age 84 years, a resident of Montrose, WV formerly of Green Spring, went to be with the Lord, Wednesday morning, February 16, 2011 at her home surrounded by her loved ones.

She was born Wednesday, May 5, 1926 at Cumberland, MD a daughter of the late Edward Haugh and Sofrina Mae Moreland Haugh. She was twice married. First, on May 8, 1943 to the Rev. David P. Cannon, Sr., who preceded her in death. Second, on June 5, 1994 at Montrose, WV she was married to Garvin H. Corder, who survives. Also surviving are six sons, Nick Cannon, Green Spring; The Rev. Terry E. Cannon and wife Josephine, Montrose; Larry Cannon, Green Spring; David Cannon, Green Spring; Daniel Cannon and wife Sally, Cacapon; and Joseph Cannon and wife Cheryl, Green Spring; four daughters, Shelia Stotler and husband Larry, Green Spring; Sandy Honeycutt, Montrose; Connie Keplinger and husband Leroy, Oldtown, MD; and Anna Wall, Shanks; her twin sister, Ellen June Bradour and husband Buzz, Boothyn, PA; twenty five grandchildren, Cody Cannon; Amanda Cannon; Tyler Cannon Wright; Cameron Cannon; Shane Chaney; Danielle Mace; Larry Cannon; Herschel Cannon; Micah Cannon; Marcus Cannon; David Cannon; Heather Liberati; Sandra Lucas; Jason Cannon; Justin Cannon; Tina Stahlman; Crystal Atkinson; Regina Mallery; Herschel Honeycutt; Bradley Honeycutt; Marcellus Honeycutt; Tonyula Keplinger; Eric Keplinger; Amy Wall; and Matthew Wall; and numerous great and great great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.

Preceding her in death are three brothers, Russell, Buddy, and Lester Haugh; four sisters, Eleanor Slider; Evelyn Twigg; Virginia Allen; and Thelma Cook and six grandchildren, Adam; Shane; Terry; Lori; and Nathan Cannon; and Huey Honeycutt.

She attended the schools of Oldtown, MD and was a homemaker

May was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend to many. She was greatly loved and will be sadly missed but we can rejoice and take comfort in knowing that she is now with her Lord and Savior suffering no more.

The family will receive friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Elkins from 5 to 8 PM, Friday. Final Rites will be conducted at the funeral home chapel, Saturday, February 19, 2011 at 1:00 PM. The Rev. Bill Cutshaw and the Rev. Kevin Henry will officiate and interment will follow at the Mountain State Memorial Gardens at Gilman, WV.
