Hobert Thaddieus Henline, a resident of Thomas, WV departed this life Tuesday, March 15, 2022 at Cortland Acres at Thomas, WV.

He was born Friday October 28, 1927 at Elkins, WV, a son of the late Hobert Franklin Henline and Marguerite Opal Goddin Henline. On July 2, 1948 at Irvington, MD, he was married to the former Naomi Wise Graham, who preceded him in death February 21, 2000.

Surviving are three sons, Henry Franklin Henline and wife Maureen of Ormond, Beach, FL, Hobert Webb Henline of Gardners, PA, and Robert Ryan Henline and wife Kimberly of Millersville, MD; two daughters, Naomi Marguerite Dickinson and husband Jim of Garfield, MD and Judy Elaine Humphrey of Sulphur, LA; niece, Vickie Dawn Roy, and nephew, Warren “Chip” Millard Roy; twenty two grandchildren; twenty four great grandchildren; and three great great grandchildren.

Preceding him in death are one son, Jeffrey Zane Henline; and one sister, Sharon O’Goddin Henline Roy.

He was a graduate of Elkins High School with the class of 1945. He was a Veteran of the United States Air Force, working as a pay load engineer at JHU/APL, traveled to Kenya, Africa to launch several satellites and worked on President Reagan’s SCI program, went abroad on the USS Thomas A. Edison Nuclear Submarine, helped launch satellites from Vandenberg Air Force Base in Van Buren, CA, spent several years in the Merchant Marines and spent four years in the U.S. Air Force, with the rank of Airman 1st Class. He was a former employee of John Hopkins University/Applied Physics Laboratory in Laurel, MD, retiring after thirty plus years. He was a member of the Patmos Masonic Lodge #70 in Ellicott City, MD, where he served as Master of the Lodge during 1963 & 1986. He was a member of the Coffman United Methodist Chapel at Seneca Run. Mr. Henline enjoyed playing golf and made a hole in one at the Carolina Pines in New Bern, NC. Following his retirement, he belonged to the JHU/APL Golf League and won four championships.

A graveside service will take place on Monday, March 21, 2022 at 11 AM at the Gilman Cemetery at Gilman. Family will officiate and interment will follow with full military honors being accorded by members of the U. S. Air Force, the H.W. Daniel’s Post #29, American Legion and the Tygarts Valley Post #3647, Veterans of Foreign Wars. The family suggests that expressions of sympathy be in the form of a prayer of blessing on Monday at 11 AM for Hobert Thaddieus Henline
