Hunter Robert Lamb1948-2002 Obituary

Hunter Robert Lamb, 89, of Route 3, Box 334, Buckhannon, died Thursday, Feb. 7, 2002, in his home in Buckhannon.

Mr. Lamb was born Sept. 7, 1912, in Lewis County, a son of the late Robert S. and Lydia Woofter Lamb.

On Dec. 12, 1948, he married Dorothy Lane Lamb, who survives.

Also surviving are a daughter, Charlotte Cooke, Raleigh, N.C.; a son, Stephen Robert Lamb, San Diego, Calif.; a sister, Madeline Moody, Price Town; a grandson, Zac Cooke, Raleigh, N.C.; two granddaughters, Tonya Bisby, Wake Forest, N.C., and Tracey Lynam, Raleigh, N.C.; a great-grandson, Brandon Bisby, Wake Forest, N.C.; and a great-granddaughter, Ashley Lane Bisby, Wake Forest, N.C.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Lamb; and four sisters, Garnett Long, Bonnie Moody, Lucy Mae Lamb and Annabelle Vaughn.

Mr. Lamb was an iron worker for Bethlehem Steel. He served with the U.S. Navy Seabees in the South Pacific during World War II aboard the USS Enterprise.

Funeral Arrangements: Friends will be received at Poling-st. Clair Funeral Home in Buckhannon today from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be in the funeral home chapel Sunday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. J. Edward McDaniels officiating. Interment will follow in Rock Grove Cemetery in Alum Bridge.
