Iris Joan Riffle, age 70 years, a resident of Jimtown, passed away Thursday morning, March 31, 2011 at her home. She was born August 8, 1940 at Norton, a daughter of the late Charles Davis Mace, Sr. and the late Mona Adelene Himes Mace. On May 18, 1957 in Baltimore, Md., she was married to Donald E. “Ed” Riffle who survives at Jimtown. Also surviving are four sons, Jonathan Edward Riffle, New Jersey, Randall Grant Riffle, Beverly, Brian David Riffle, Jimtown and Donald Carey Riffle of Coalton, one daughter, Roxanna Lynn Bartelli and husband Jeffery of Norton, two brothers, Charles Davis Mace, Jr., Jimtown and Carl Leonard Mace and wife Nancy of Buckhannon Pike, a sister, Brenda Gail Sandella and husband Joe of Ashtabula, OH, a brother-in-law, Andrew Mahanes of Jimtown, thirteen grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, two step-great grandchildren, an aunt, Betty Ware of Elkins and several nieces and nephews also survive. Also preceding her in death was one son, Terry Lee Riffle, a daughter-in-law, Peggy Jean Riffle, a brother, Gerald Grant Mace, a sister, Trudy Elaine Mahanes, two grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Mrs. Riffle attended the schools of Randolph County and was employed as a caretaker of the elderly for Home Health Care. She enjoyed traveling, especially to the beach and Nashville and enjoyed Listening to Conway Twitty’s music. One of the joys of her life was being around children. She was a Pentecostal by Faith.

Friends may call from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Sunday, April 3, 2011 at the Tomblyn Funeral Home in Elkins. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, April 4th from the funeral home chapel with Rev. Tristan Tenney officiating. Interment will follow in the Phillips Cemetery at Jimtown. The Tomblyn Funeral Home of Elkins is in charge of the arrangements for Iris Joan Riffle.
