IVA OPAL ARBOGAST SHREVE 1915-2010 Obituary

IVA OPAL ARBOGAST SHREVE, age 94 years, a resident of Beverly, WV departed this life Monday morning, June 7, 2010 at the home of her daughter, Millie Phillips. She passed away peacefully with her daughter and her caretaker, Bobbin Wilson by her side.

She was born Monday, September 20, 1915 at Elkins, WV a daughter of the late Mason Clark Arbogast and Lillie Blanche Taylor Arbogast. On December 25, 1935, she was married to Carl Edward Shreve, who preceded her in death February 21, 1989. Surviving are her children, Barbara and husband Paul “Butch” Fansler, Piketon, OH; Odell Shreve, Elkins; Jesse Shreve and companion Debbie Ware, Beverly; Shirley and husband Allen Roy, Elkins; Millie Phillips, Beverly; one brother; Virgil “Dick” Arbogast, Palm Springs, CA; and a special loving and caring niece, Reeda Francis; a son in law Ronald Bosley; ten grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.

Preceding her in death is one daughter, Edna Bosley; one infant daughter, Betty Jo Shreve; one infant son, Carl Edward Shreve, Jr.; four brothers, Clarence, Lawrence, Willis and Elijah Arbogast; one sister, Kathleen Arbogast one daughter in law, Elsie Shreve and one great grandson, Dillon Marstiller.

She attended the schools of Randolph County, of which she was a lifetime resident and was a homemaker. Iva was a loving and caring wife, mother, sister and grandmother who always put her family first in everything. She especially loved babies and would “light up” when she would see them. She will always be remembered for her “special smile” when her family visited. She had been a Christian for many years and is now home with Jesus her Saviour.

The family will receive friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Elkins on Thursday, June 10, 2010 from 11 AM to 2 PM the funeral hour. The Reverend Franklin Shreve of the Upper Room Church at Clarksburg, WV will officiate and interment will follow at the Mountain State Memorial Gardens at Gilman, WV.
