Ivan Dale Greathouse, 61, of Durbin, passed away Thursday, Dec. 12, 2002.

Mr. Greathouse was born April 13, 1941, at Durbin, to Ella L. Morgan Greathouse and the late Ivan Door Greathouse.

Mr. Greathouse was an avid deer and bear hunter. He was a laborer for Howe’s Leather Co., a truck driver for Grimes Logging Co., Burford Coal Co. and was a heavy equipment operator for numerous companies. He was a member of the Bethel United Methodist Church on Back Mountain, a member of the National Rifleman Association and the West Virginia Bear Hunters Association.

He was married to Frances Greathouse, who survives in Durbin.

In addition to his mother and wife, he is survived by three sons, Kevin Greathouse and wife, Sharon, Carl Greathouse and wife, Regina, and Donald Greathouse and wife, Wanda, all of Durbin; one sister, Donna Hommema of Elkins; three grandchildren, Fallon, Jenna and Jordan Greathouse; two stepgrandchildren, Wesley and Josh Lambert; and many nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. today at Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home in Arbovale. Funeral services will be at Bethel United Methodist Church on Back Mountain Tuesday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Lawrence Bennett, the Rev. Harold Swecker and the Rev. Carl VanStavern officiating. Interment will follow in Bethel United Methodist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Wally Starks, Dave Tallman, Keith Moyers, Ringo Vandevander, Steven Curry, Jimmy Warner, Roy Taylor and Larry Morgan.
