Jack McGuigan, 74, of Bounds Circle, Westover, died Sunday, May 19, 2002, as the result of an automobile accident in Salem.

He was born April 21, 1928, in Baltimore, Md., a son of the late Maurice Moore and Minnie Mae Burke McGuigan Sr.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Jean McGuigan, on Jan. 10, 2000.

He is survived by one daughter, Jean Ann McGuigan of Westover; one son, Doug McGuigan of Elkins; and one sister, Nancye L. Farver of Edisto Beach, S.C.

He was a licensed embalmer for Calfee Funeral Home in Beckley and an electrician for Pittston Coal Co. in Wyco.

He was a lifelong resident of Beckley, and had resided in Westover since the death of his wife, Jean McGuigan.

He was a graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School in Beckley and the Gupton Jones School of Mortuary Science in Nashville, Tenn.

He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II with Occupational Forces.

He was a member of the United Mine Workers Association and United Methodist Temple in Beckley.

He was a former master of Boy Scout Troop 80 and an avid West Virginia University fan and supporter.

Graveside funeral services will be Wednesday at Beverly Hills Cemetery at 11 a.m. with Dr. Richard Wright officiating.

McCulla Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
