Jackie David Bennett, 64, a resident of Port Deposit, Md., passed away Friday, May 16, 2003, in the Havre de Grace Hospital in Maryland.

Born March 16, 1939, in Beverly, he was the son of the late Alfred “Pete” and Geneva Arbogast Bennett.

He was united in marriage to the former Janet Potter, who survives in Maryland.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Patricia Charsha; a brother, Fred T. Bennett; a granddaughter, Stephanie Renee Charsha; and a grandson, Justin David Charsha.

Also surviving is a sister-in-law, Lorena Bennett of Beverly; and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death besides his parents were two brothers, Virgil and Delbert Bennett.

Jackie attended the schools of Randolph County and had formerly been employed by Labcraft until moving to Maryland. In Maryland, he went to work for the Wiley shipyard and retired in 1991 from Local No. 820 Plumbers and Pipe Fitters.

He was an active member of the Pleasant Valley Baptist Church.

Friends will be received Tuesday at the Pleasant Valley Baptist Church in Port Deposit, Md., from noon to 1 p.m., the funeral hour.
