James Clinton “Jim” Bennett, age 72, of Buckhannon, WV died Thursday, August 23, 2012 at Davis Memorial Hospital in Elkins, WV. He was born November 9, 1939 in Hall, WV, a son of the late Silas W. and Nora Gregory Bennett. On July 3, 1959 he married Joan Haddix who survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Sis Bennett of Buckhannon and Gail Bennett of Fairmont, WV; three sons, Clint and wife Connie, Rex and Charlie Bennett all of Buckhannon; four grandsons, Gerren and wife Megan of Martinsburg, WV, Justin of SC, Derrick and wife Becky and Travis all of Buckhannon; three granddaughters, Brenda Gail of SC, Brittany and Brandy of Hodgesville, WV; two brothers Wayne and wife Gay and Bryan and wife Karen all of Buckhannon, one sister in-law Rosie Bennett of OH, several nieces and nephews, and special friends Mike and wife Kelli Dean of Buckhannon. Mr. Bennett was a retired coal miner for King Knob Coal Co. He was a member of the Way of Holiness Church. He enjoyed hunting, farming, animals and spending time with the family and friends. The family would like to give a special thanks to Dr. Theresa “Terri” Poling for taking the very best care of him. Friends will be received Sunday, August 26, 2012 from 5 to 9 PM at the Poling St. Clair Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held 2 PM Monday at the funeral home with the Pastor Jerry Murrell officiating. Burial will follow in the Bennett Cemetery at Kesling Mill, WV. Poling-st. Clair Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
