James “Eddie” DuBois Jr., 54, a former resident of Sanford, N.C., and a resident of Huttonsville, passed away at 1:45 a.m. Tuesday, May 6, 2003, at Davis Memorial Hospital where he had been a patient since May 4. Death was attributed to multiple sclerosis.

Born Nov. 25, 1948, he was the son of the late James Edward DuBois and Mary Harrell DuBois, who survives in Huttonsville.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by one daughter, Rachel Trunzo of Ontario, Canada; and one sister, Phyllis Yokum and husband, Jim, of Huttonsville. Also surviving is one nephew, Dalton James Yokum; one niece, Michelle Yokum; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

James was formerly employed as a service master. He was a firefighter and became chief of the Spring Lake Fire Department.

“Ed” was a key operator for Central Carolina Security Systems until retiring in June 2001 due to his illness. He worked on computers and was an avid reader of books.

At the request of the deceased, the remains will be cremated.

Private services will be held at a later date.

The Rev. Frank Collier will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorials be made in Eddie’s name to the charity of your choice.

The F.E. Runner Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements for James “Ed” DuBois Jr.
