James Luther Frymyer, 72, a resident of Parsons, passed from this life Tuesday, January 19, 2021, at his home.

James was born Friday, January 7, 1949, in Morgantown, a son of the late James Willard Frymyer and Rosetta Belle Beckett Frymyer. On September 21, 1968 in Youngstown, OH, he married Carol Jane Frymyer who survives.

Also left to cherish James’ memory are four children, James Luther Frymyer Jr. of Beckley, Patricia Ann Waybright and husband, Burl, John Willard Frymyer, and Steven Lee Frymyer and wife, Evelyn, all of Parsons, three sisters, Mary Katherine Savage, Louise Waybright and Gertrude Rosetta Phillips, eight grandchildren, Zachary Frymyer, Aaron Frymyer, LeAnna Frymyer, Nikki Frymyer, Melissa Waybright, Jessica Waybright, Mary Waybright, JJ Waybright, Thomas Badgett, Noah Davisson, and six others, and special friends Bud and Beverly Rosier, James and Amanda Bedford and family.

Preceding James in death besides his parents was three brothers, Buddy, Otis and Paul Frymyer and a sister, Grace.

James attended the schools of Tucker County. He was owner and operator of Statewide Granite & Vault and owned and operated Maplewood Cemetery in Elkins for thirty years. James enjoyed fishing, hunting, bowling and especially family gatherings.

Visitation will be held at the Hostetler Funeral Home on Friday from 5 pm until 7 pm. Funeral services will be held from the funeral home chapel on Saturday, January 23, 2021, at 1 pm. Rev. Pat Cassidy will officiate and interment will follow at Maplewood Cemetery in Elkins. As we continue following guidelines from the CDC and Gov. Jim Justice, we will observe social distancing and the use of facial coverings.
