JAMES LEE SPOTLOE James Lee Spotloe, 74, of Philippi, died Monday, March 14, 2011, in the United Hospital Center, following an extended illness. He was born June 25, 1936, at Century, Barbour County, a son of the late Guy William and Ida Mae (Vance) Spotloe. Survivors include a daughter, Vickie Carter and three grandchildren, whose locations are unknown; two sisters, Martha Casto, Carrollton community and his twin sister, Janet Boylen, Philippi; a brother, Lloyd “Dale” Spotloe, Volga and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his former wife, Julie Spotloe. Mr. Spotloe was a retired coal miner. He enjoyed grocery shopping and attending yard sales. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. on Thursday, March 17, from the Stemple & Forman Funeral Home, 385 So. Main Street, Philippi. The Rev. W. F. Boylen will officiate and interment will follow in the Mt. Vernon Memorial Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 4:00 until 9:00 P.M. on Wednesday and from 9:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M., the funeral hour on Thursday. Stemple & Forman Funeral Home was entrusted with arrangements.
