James Oscar “Jessie” Wilson, 65, of Pocahontas Street, Buckhannon, died Wednesday, Sept. 17, 2003, in St. Joseph’s Hospital.

He was born Nov. 8, 1937, the son of the late Charles Robert Wilson and Vesta G. Long Wilson, who survives at Rock Cave.

In addition to his mother, he is also survived by two sons, James Jay Wilson of Akron, Ohio, and Donald A. Wilson of East Moline, Ill.; one daughter, Maureen Wilson Bender of Akron, Ohio; two sisters, Barbara Kay Wilson of Cleveland, Ohio, and Deborah A. Wilson of Cleveland, Ohio; three brothers, Ronald G. Wilson of Buckhannon, and David A. Wilson and Charles W. Wilson, both of Weston.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by one brother, Richard Lynn Wilson.

Mr. Wilson graduated from Buckhannon-Upshur High School and served in the U.S. Marine Corps. He was a lifelong member of the Wilson Chapel United Methodist Church.

Friends will be received from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. today at the Heavner & Cutright Funeral Chapel in Tennerton. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Wilson Chapel United Methodist Church with the Rev. Sue Lowther and the Rev. Robert Heavner officiating. Interment will follow in the Wilsontown Cemetery. The Buckhannon Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3663 and the Frank B. Bartlett Post 7 American Legion of Buckhannon will conduct military honors at the graveside. The Heavner & Cutright Funeral Chapel Inc. is in charge of the arrangements for James O. “Jessie” Wilson.
