Janet Lynn Melton Bodkin, 46, of Elkins, died at 10:12 p.m. Tuesday (July 4, 2000) at her residence, following a battle with cancer. She was born Nov. 3, 1953, in Fairmont, the daughter of Elwood Lynn and Billie Von Hoskinson Melton of Fairmont. She graduated from West Fairmont High School with honors and attended Bob Jones University. She graduated in 1975 from the Steubenville School of Nursing, Steubenville, Ohio. She was a registered nurse and worked for the Davis Memorial Hospital in Elkins prior to her retirement due to illness. She formerly worked for 23 years at West Virginia University Hospital ENT Clinic of Morgantown. She was a member of the Faith Baptist Chapel in Beverly. In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband of 15 years, Carroll Lee Bodkin of Elkins, whom she married Nov. 20, 1985; a son, Shawn Adam Bodkin, at home; a step-son, Patrick Ian Bodkin and his wife, Melissa, of Elkins; a step-daughter, Heather Dawn Harris and her husband, Kevin, of Buckhannon; a brother, James Robert Melton of Four States; two sisters, Peggy Lee Melton of Worthington, and Robyn Sue LeBlond of Fairmont; two grandchildren, Trey and Athena Bodkin; several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. Friends may call from 6-9 p.m. today at the Lohr-barb-vance Funeral Home, 120 First St., Elkins. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in the funeral home chapel with the Rev.
