Janice E. Campbell 1914-2003 Obituary
Janice Emma “Janie” Campbell, 89, of 17 Three Lick Road., Buckhannon, died Monday, Jan. 20, 2003, at Nella’s Nursing Home in Crystal Springs.
She was born Jan. 20, 1914, in Ellamore, a daughter of the late Lloyd E. and Mary Alice Pratt Lewis.
On Feb. 16, 1930, she married Elmer “Kelly” Campbell, who preceded her in death on July 25, 1992.
Surviving are two daughters, Irene Linger, Locust Grove, Va., and Mary Sutton, Buckhannon; one sister, Mardell Nichols, Spartansburg, Pa.; one brother-in-law, the Rev. Carus Campbell, Buckhannon; 12 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by one daughter, Betty Kennedy; four sisters, Ruby Harr, Carrie Bell, Mary Ware and Vernetta Ware; four brothers, Elson Lewis, Freddie Lewis, Sam Lewis and John Burton Lewis; and one grandson, Matthew Linger.
She was a seamstress for Reidboard Brothers.
She was a charter member of the First United Brethren in Christ.
Friends will be received today from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be in the funeral home chapel Thursday at 11 a.m. Interment will follow in Buckhannon Memorial Park at Buckhannon.
