Jean Ramsey Wade, 71, a resident of the Blackman Heights community, Parsons, departed this life late Tuesday evening, Dec. 2, 2003, at her home. She had been in declining health and death was attributed to respiratory failure.

She was born Thursday, Dec. 24, 1931, at Parsons, the daughter of the late Charles Lee Ramsey and Eunice Baker Ramsey.

On Feb. 20, 1950, at Oakland, Md., she was married to Harry M. Wade, who survives at Hambleton.

Also surviving are one son; Danny Lynn Wade and wife, Diane, of Hambleton; one brother; Robert “Bob” Ramsey and wife, Irene, of Leadmine; and two granddaughters; Bethany Wade of Parsons and Janeen Wade of Ocala, Fla.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Jack and Bill Ramsey; and two sisters, Eloine McClain and Mary Irvin.

She attended the schools of Parsons. She was an employee of the former Dorman Woolen Mill of Parsons and a former employee of the Jim Propst Store.

She attended the Parsons Church of God.

The family will receive friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home today from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. and from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Final rites will be conducted at the funeral home parlor at 11 a.m. Friday. The Rev. Eli Hostetler will officiate and entombment will follow at the Mountain State Memorial Gardens at Gilman.
