JERRY BENNETT Jerry Bennett, 70, of Perry Goode Road, Belington, died Tuesday May 28, 2013, in the Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, following an extended illness. He was born July 16, 1942, at Beverly, Randolph County, a son of the late Donald D. And Ella (Watson) Bennett. On March 13, 1967, he married the former Carolyn Sue Phillips, who survives at Belington. Also surviving are two sons, Jerry L. Bennett and wife, Julie, Belington, Robert P. Bennett and wife, Vera, Philippi; two daughters, Tonya S. Underwood, Elkins, Rebecca A. Tingler and husband, James, Circleville; three sisters, Ruby L. Jones, Coalton, Betty L. Myers, Lancaster, Penn., A. Sue Zirkle and husband, Jack, Medina, Oh., ten grandchildren, Marcon Lea-ann Tingler and husband, T.J., Jerry L. Bennett Jr. and wife, Lisa, Lloyd T. Bennett, Richard Dawson Bennett, Nevaeh P. Bennett, Ashley M. Harris, Austin L. Bennett, Howard G. Underwood II, Makayla N. Tingler and Lexy L. Tingler; and nine great grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Harold “Buss” Bennett and Lloyd Bennett. Mr. Bennett was a veteran of the U. S. Air Force. He retired from the Barbour County Division of the W.Va. Department of Transportation, Division of Highways with 30 years service. He was Baptist by faith. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. on Sunday, June 2, 2013, from the Schoonover – Stemple Funeral Chapel, 609 Crim Avenue, Belington. The Rev. Ron Phillips will officiate and interment will follow in the Trinity Cemetery at Beverly, where military rites will be conferred. Friends may call at the funeral home from 5:00 until 9:00 P.M. on Saturday and from 11:00 A.M. until 2:00 P.M., the funeral hour, on Sunday. Schoonover – Stemple Funeral Chapel is entrusted with arrangements.
