Jesse David Lowther, 84, a resident of Holly Meadows, Parsons, passed from this life Saturday morning, November 19, 2011 at his home. He had been in declining health due to a fall in May. He was born Thursday, March 10, 1927 in Webster County, a son of the late Melville Hayward Lowther, Sr. and Sarah Areta Cogar Lowther. On September 5, 1953 at Montrose, he was married to the former Pauline Lucille Knotts, who survives. Others left to cherish Jesse’s memory are two daughters, Sandra Elaine Kisamore and husband, Benjamin of St. George, and Paula Diane Bates and husband, Jack of Holly Meadows, one son, Melvin Carl “Bub” Lowther and wife, Janet Kay of Holly Meadows, three sisters, Areta Jean Krause of Buckhannon, Betty Lou Humphrey and husband, Bob Mothershed and Carol Sue Sarvinas and husband, William A., all of Florida, one brother, Charles Grant Lowther and wife, Delores of Dailey, four grandchildren, Benjamin Daniel Kisamore and wife, Pam, Stephanie Dawn Fitzwater and husband, Jeff, Raymond David Bates and Christopher Paul Lowther, six great grandchildren, Andrew Tyler Kisamore, Ashley Lowther, Daniel Paul Kisamore, Katlynn Elaine Bates, Sarah Louise Bates, and Christian Paul Lowther, three step grandchildren, James W. Falls, Janet L. Florence, and Robert G. Falls, and several nieces and nephews. Preceding Jesse in death were four brothers, Donald Forrest, Dana Ray, Melville Hayward Jr., and Lester Gray, three sisters, Josephine Wilt, Eula “Billie” Tuning, and Myrtle Nell Lowther. Jesse had attended the schools of Webster County, and had worked as a heavy equipment operator and mechanic for various timber companies, for the West Virginia Department of Highways, and for D&W Trucking from which he retired. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and doing small engine repairs. He loved spending time with his family. Visitation will be held at the Summerfield Funeral Home of Parsons on Monday from 5 until 8 PM. Funeral services will be conducted from the funeral home chapel on Tuesday, November 22, 2011 at 11 AM. The Reverend Carolyn Shreve and Reverend Neal Precht will officiate and interment will follow at Mountain State Memorial Gardens at Gilman.
