John Leet Wilder 1940-2020 Obituary

John Leet Wilder, 80, of Buckhannon, died Monday, Dec. 28, 2020, at his home.

He was born Oct. 15, 1940, in Hanover, New Hampshire, a son of the late Geneve Ware Wilder and John Wilder and stepmother, Hannah Simpkens Wilder.

In addition to his parents and stepmother, he was preceded in death by his special companion, Carol Parks.

He is survived by three cousins, Leet and Julie Ware, both of Thetford, Vermont, and Kim Ware of Winter Haven, Florida. Mr. Wilder will be greatly missed by his extended family, Deborah Metheny of Buckhannon, Teresa Westfall and husband, Mark, of Buckhannon, Donna Wyman and husband, Rod, of Weston, Cynthia Cunningham of Florida, Kristi Davis and husband, Robert, of Florida, and Karri Parks of Weston; 11 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Mr. Wilder served in the U.S. Army from 1958 to 1961, was a union brick layer and played semi-pro baseball. Mr. Wilder was buried at Beechtown Cemetery in Frenchton.
