Joseph Wilbur Mick, 78, a former resident of Parsons and for the past two years a resident of Nella’s Nursing Home, passed from this life Saturday evening, August 24, 2013 at Nella’s Nursing Home in Elkins. Joe was born Monday, September 3, 1934, a son of the late Joseph Wilburn Mick and Mary Jane Phillips Mick. He was married to the former Hazel Marie Streets who preceded him in death in November of 2004. Left to cherish Joe’s memory is one sister: Wanda Streets of Valley Furnace and nieces and nephews. Joe attended the schools of Tucker County and had worked in the coal mines, worked construction building bridges and was a truck driver for D&W Truck Line. He loved being outdoors cutting wood and hunting for scrap metal. Joe was well known in Tucker County for always being there to lend a hand. He was a Methodist by faith. Joseph’s request for cremation will be honored. A graveside service and inurnment will be held at 1:00 pm, Thursday, August 29, 2013, at Bright’s Chapel Cemetery in Dry Fork.
