Juanita Daugherty Dadisman, 85, departed this life Friday, July 4, 2003, surrounded by her family.

She was born March 16, 1918, at Independence community, a daughter of the late Seymour and Sylvia (Burner) Daugherty.

She was united in marriage on Nov. 7, 1936, to James T. Dadisman, who preceded her in death on June 23, 1985.

Surviving are two sons, Thomas G. Dadisman of Grafton, and Roy Dadisman and wife, Barb, of Philippi; two daughters and sons-in-law, Sharon and husband, Larry Corley, of Philippi, and Sheila and husband, Henry Daugherty, of Philippi; one daughter-in-law, Saundra Dadisman of Philippi; two sisters, Dorothy Greer, Lawton, Okla., and Faye Morrell, Warren, Ohio; 18 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, Lloyd, Burton and Seymour Daugherty; four sisters, Margaret, Josephine, Norma Jean and Euldene Daugherty; and one son, Kenneth Dadisman.

She retired from the old Broaddus Hospital as a nurse assistant.

Shew as a founding member of the Independence Church of Christ and was a member of the Union Church of Christ.

She was a member of the Union Sew-n-Sews and the Union Senior Citizens.

She was a homemaker and enjoyed quilting and gardening.

The family received friends at the Wright Funeral Home on Sunday and at Dadisman residence Monday after 10 a.m. until noon on Tuesday, at which time Mrs. Dadisman was moved to the Union Church of Christ for services at 2 p.m. with Evangelist Emanuel Daugherty officiating. Interment followed in Pitman Cemetery.
