JUNIOR HARRISON “JUNE” DAVIS, age 79 years, a resident of the Rosendorf Community, Hendricks, WV, departed this life Wednesday, April 21, 2010 at Cortland Acres Nursing Home at Thomas, WV.
He was born Thursday, June 5, 1930 at Albert, WV, a son of the late Guy George Davis and Mary V. Long Davis. He was married to the former Annie Evadot Rohrbaugh, who preceded him in death January 14, 2003.
Surviving are one son, Arthur Junior “Punk” Davis and wife Eva of Hambleton, WV; one daughter, Vickie Jean Hedrick of St. George, WV; and one brother, Verl “Nubby” Davis and wife Elsie of Parsons; four grandchildren, Kevin, Harrison, Jay and Crissy; and eight great grandchildren.
He attended the schools of Tucker County. He was a Veteran of the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He was an employee of the United States Forest Service for over 30 years. He was a member of the former Garnett Post 4322 Veterans of Foreign Wars of Parsons, a member of the Parsons Church of God and he was an avid outdoorsman.
Mr. Davis’s wishes for cremation where honored. A private graveside service will be conducted at the McNeeley Cemetery at Hendricks, WV. The Reverend Eli Hostetler will officiate and interment will follow. The family suggest that expressions of sympathy be in the form of contributions to; The Veterans Memorial Wall Parsons in care of Fred Simmons, PO Box 184, Parsons, WV or Parsons Church of God, Building Fund, 507 Central St., Parsons, WV. 26287.
