Our Lord welcomed his child Junior James Orsburn, and carried him in his loving arms to his heavenly prepared home on October 22, 2012. Junior was the son of the late Benjamin and Madge Shipman Orsburn. He was born on April 9, 1930 in Upshur County, WV the Excelsior Community. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Margaret Zickefoose Orsburn; one son, Timothy Mark Orsburn and wife Debbie of Buckhannon, WV the Lick Run Community; one daughter, Tamela Grace and husband Patrick Martin of the Century Community, Buckhannon; one grandson, Timothy Mark Orsburn Jr. of Morgantown, WV; one granddaughter, Matasha and husband Nicholas Weaver of French Creek, WV; one step grandson, Bryan Snyder and wife Amanda of the Hampton Community, Buckhannon; one step granddaughter, Jennifer and husband David Boggs of Buckhannon and four step great granddaughters, Emily, Kayla, Sara, and Jesse Boggs all of Buckhannon. He is also survived by one brother, Earle and wife Mabelean Orsburn of Stonewood WV; several nieces and nephews and hundreds of friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Wanetta Orsburn, Alta Holden and Elsie McCartney and three brothers, Harrison, Ralph and John Orsburn all of Upshur County. Junior was a dedicated member of the Sand Run Baptist Church, serving his Lord as Sunday School Superintendent, Head Trustee, and Deacon. He was a carpenter by trade, building several houses in the Buckhannon area, and was Mr. Fix it at the church. He served in the United States Air Force from 1951-1955. He enjoyed life, was never idle, loved the outdoors, walking with Matthea, the family’s German Shepard, gardening, hunting and fishing. He certainly was a Gentle Giant. Friends will be received Friday, October 26, 2012 from 11 AM-2 PM at the Sand Run Baptist Church. A funeral service will be held 2 PM at the church with the Rev. Donald Butcher officiating. Burial will follow in the Sand Run Baptist Church Cemetery at Excelsior, WV. Buckhannon VFW Post # 3663, Frank B. Bartlett Post # 7 American Legion and DAV Chapters # 5 & #36 will conduct Military Honors at the graveside. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.polingstclair.com Poling-st.
