Kathleen Mae Miller 1936-2002 Obituary

Kathleen Mae Miller, 66, a former resident of the Jimtown community, and a resident of Norton, passed away Friday, Nov. 8, 2002, at noon, at the home of her daughter, Feronda and son-in-law, Chad Bennett, where she made her home for the past several years.

She was born March 5, 1936, in Valley Bend, a daughter of the late Richard and Flora Irene Wyatt Bender.

On Dec. 24, 1952, she was united in marriage to Leo H. Miller, who preceded her in death on Sept. 13, 1983.

She is survived by four daughters, Patricia K. Miller of Norton, Vickie L. Gibson of Lynchburg, Va., Feronda Bennett and husband, Chad, of Norton, and Sherry Owens of Clarksburg; three sons, Gary Miller and wife, Patty, of Elkins, David Miller and wife, Veronica, of Shelbyville, Mich., and Donnie Miller and wife, Pam, of Elkins; two sisters, Anna Mae Shoulders and husband, Buck, of Elkins, and Pauline N. Hagerty of Norton; and four brothers, Paul Bender of Elkins, Roger Bender of Elkins, Eugene Bender of Montrose, and Barry Bender of California.

Also surviving are 18 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

She worked in the cafeteria at the Memorial General Hospital until becoming disabled and retired in 1985. She loved to make crafts, play bingo and travel. She attended Landmark Baptist Church and was a Methodist by faith.

Preceding her in death besides her parents are one son, Ralph Leo Miller; three brothers, James Bender, Kenneth Bender and Robert Bender; and one great-grandchild, Joseph Green.



Friends will be received at F.E. Runner Funeral Home today after 6 p.m. On Tuesday, Mrs. Miller will be moved to Phillips Chapel Church, where friends may call from noon until 1 p.m., the funeral hour. The Rev. Mark Houser of Landmark Baptist Church will officiate and interment will follow in Phillips Chapel Church in Jimtown. The F.E. Runner Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements for Kathleen Mae Miller.
