Kertie Harper, 101, of PO Box 100, Seneca Rocks, 26884, died Thursday, Jan. 16, 2003, in Rockingham Memorial Hospital in Harrisonburg, Va.

Miss Harper was born Oct. 7, 1901, in Macksville, a daughter of the late Fred Harper and Jennie Harman Harper.

Surviving are one daughter, Frances Wimer, Cherry Grove; three sons, Harman Kisamore, Seneca Rocks, Freddie E. Kisamore, Seneca Rocks, and Ival P. Kisamore, Charleston; one sister, Ruby Vance, Upper Tract; one brother, Mason Harper, Pendleton County Nursing Home; and 19 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren and 38 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one son, Edwin Kisamore; four brothers, Walter Harper, Brose Harper, Johnny Harper and Burrell Harper; and three sisters, Beulah Watts, Mamie Warner and Margie Huffman.

Miss Harper was a homemaker and a cook at lumber camps. She was a Protestant.

Friends will be received today from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Basagic Funeral home in Franklin. Funeral services will be in the funeral home chapel on Sunday at 2 p.m. The Rev. Barbara Rexroad will officiate and interment will be at North Fork Memorial Cemetery.
