Larry Lee Schaffer, age 61, a resident of Brooklyn Heights in Tucker County passed from this life, Saturday morning, July, 21 2012 at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown. He was born Wednesday, September 6, 1950 at Vienna, WV, a son of the late Everett Russell Schaffer and Margie Shears Schaffer. During 1993 at Oakland, MD, he was married to the former Nancy Karen Nestor Hipp, who survives. Also surviving are three children, Kimberly Hipp McVicker and husband, Robert of Reedsville, Brandy Hipp Nakamura and husband, Yoshitaka of Kyota, Japan, John A. Hipp, Jr. and wife, Shaunda, of Philippi, two brothers, Edward Russell Schaffer and wife, Janet of Roanoke, VA and Charles Leroy Schaffer and wife, Arlene, of Parkersburg and several nieces and nephews. Larry was a graduate of Vienna High School, had served with the United States Navy, and worked for Delanos Carpet in Terra Alta as a carpet installer / floor coverer. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, raising dogs, and was a handyman. Larry’s request for cremation was honored. A memorial service will be held Saturday, August 18, 2012 at 1:00 pm at the Parsons Church of God. The Reverend Arlene Schaffer will officiate. The Summerfield Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements for Larry Lee Schaffer.
