LARRY STUART INGHAM 1938-2013 Obituary
LARRY STUART INGHAM, age 74 years, a resident of Parsons, WV, departed this life Wednesday morning, March 27, 2013 at The Hospice Care Corp. Inpatient Unit at Elkins, WV. He had been in declining health.
He was born Thursday, July 21, 1938 at Arlington, VA, a son of the late Leonard Rice Ingham and Lulu Madison Ingham. He was twice married. First on August 20, 1960, he was married to the former Lara Sue Williams, who preceded him in death. Second on April 2, 2002, he was married to the former Judith Lee “Judy” Orr, who survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Michael Stuart Ingham of Parsons, Mark David Ingham and wife Jennifer of Villa Rica, GA; three daughters, Mary Belinda Cordell and husband Randy of Douglasville, GA, Melissa Lou Gibson and husband Robert of Canton, GA, Melanie Sue Ambrose and husband Jim of Moore Station Rd, Parsons; two stepdaughters, Melanie Lynn Kelly and husband Kenny of Dailey, WV and Susan Annette Heckler and husband Mark of Hambleton, WV; eighteen grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
He was a graduate with the Class of 1956 from The Massanutten Military Academy in Woodstock, VA and attended Davis & Elkins College in Elkins, WV. He was a Veteran of the United States Navy. He was a former Manager of Shoney’s Restaurant, retiring during 1982. He was a Licensed Private Pilot, was a member of the Mt. Top Hunting Club, and was a hunter and enjoyed golf.
The family will receive friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Parsons on Friday from 5 to 8 PM. Final rites will be conducted at the funeral home parlor on Saturday, March 30, 2013 at 11 AM. The Rev. Jeff Anderson will officiate and interment will follow at the Parsons City Cemetery at Parsons, WV. The family suggests that expressions of sympathy be in the form of contributions to the First United Methodist Church, 101 First Street, Parsons, WV 26287.
