Leerenna V. Everhart 1919-2002 Obituary

Leerenna V. Everhart, 83, of Montrose, died at 9:15 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 13, 2002, at the home of her son and daughter-in-law, Masel and Rosanna Everhart.

Mrs. Everhart was born Jan. 13, 1919, in Whitmer, a daughter of the late Ollie Roy and Ourtilia May Mallow Day.

On July 1, 1946, she married Masel G. Everhart Sr., who preceded her in death on Jan. 22, 1972.

Surviving are a son, Masel Everhart Jr. and wife, Rosanna, Montrose; four brothers, Earl Day, Louiseville, Ohio, Leonard “Mike” Day, Gerald “Whitie” Day and David Day, all of Elkins; three sisters, Rosetta Pingley, Amherst, Ohio, Geraldine Sue Cook, Elkins, and Betty Cook, Louiseville, Ohio; six grandchildren, David G. and Jeffrey E. White, Michael Everhart, David H. and Clayton D. Isenhart and Leerenna R. Crosten; and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, Nathan S. Everhart; four brothers, Homer, Nevin and Glenn Day and John Roy; a sister, Gertrude White; and two grandchildren.

Mrs. Everhart worked in restaurants in the Elkins area and was a foster grandparent in Randolph County for many years prior to her retirement. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Tygart Valley Post 3647 Veterans of Foreign Wars and H.W. Daniels Post 29, American Legion. She attended Whitmer Church of God.

Friends were received at Tomblyn Funeral Home in Elkins Tuesday from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Today, Mrs. Everhart was moved to Whitmer Church of God, where friends were received from 9 a.m. until 10 a.m., the funeral hour, with Pastor Randall Richards and the Rev. Steven Bailey officiating. Interment followed in Laurel Hill Cemetery near Whitmer. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice Care Corp., 629 North Ave., Elkins, W.Va. 26241.
