Leonard Lee Goff 1924-2002 Obituary

Leonard Lee Goff, 78, a former resident of Kerens for several years, passed away at 3:27 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 7, 2002, at his residence in Montrose, where he made his home with Ed and Margaret Slaubaugh. He had been in declining health for the past several months.

Born May 7, 1924, at Kerens, he was the son of the late Lewis and Daisy Hammond Goff.

He had never married and was the last surviving member of his immediate family, having been preceded in death by two sisters, Mattie and Mary Frances; five brothers, Perry, Jasper, Paul, Emmett and Henry Goff; and two infant siblings.

Leonard is survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.

Mr. Goff hauled wood and coal for many years and was also a farmer and logger. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a Baptist by faith.

Friends will be received at the F.E. Runner Funeral Home Chapel on Sunday after 7 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted at the Runner Chapel on Monday at 11 a.m. The Rev. Walter Blough, a retired Church of the Brethren minister, will officiate. Interment will follow in the Maplewood Cemetery in Elkins.
