Leora Lee Coberly 1938-2020 Obituary

Leora “Lee” Coberly, age 81 years, a resident of Beverly, passed away Saturday, October 3, 2020 at her home and under the care of Mountain Hospice.

She was born November 17, 1938 at Valley Head, WV a daughter of the late Roy Riggleman Ware and the late Sheila Hamrick Ware. On November 23, 1957 at Oakland, MD, she was married to Albert Coberly who preceded her in death July 13, 2005. Surviving is one son, Albert J. Coberly, II, Mt. Clare, WV and one daughter, Judith A. Weese of Belington, WV. One brother, Donald Ware, Beverly, WV; one sister, Nina Lindsey, Valley Bend, WV; four grandchildren, Kayla and Cierra Coberly, Kelsey and Zachery Hart and one great granddaughter, Bristol Coberly also survive. Also preceding her in death was one son-in-law, Michael A. Hart. Mrs. Coberly attended the schools of Randolph County and was employed as a Teacher’s Aide in Special Education for the Randolph County Schools prior to her retirement. She was a member of the Elkins Church of God, leader of the Joy Bells of the church, Sunday school teacher, helped with the church food bank, church greeter and participated in the ladies ministries of the church. She was a former Girl Scout Troop Leader, a member of the Randolph County Extension Homemakers Club and had served as a poll worker. Friends may call from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm Thursday, October 8, 2020 at the Tomblyn Funeral Home in Elkins. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Friday, October 9, 2020 from the funeral home chapel with Rev. William McCallister officiating. Interment will follow at the Mountain State Memorial Gardens near Gilman. Under the mandate of Governor Jim Justice, social distancing and masks will be required for anyone attending Mrs. Coberly’s services. Memorial contributions may be made to Mountain Hospice, 1002 Crim Ave., Belington, WV 26250 in memory of Mrs. Coberly. The Tomblyn Funeral Home of Elkins is in charge of the arrangements for Leora “Lee” Coberly.
